Windshield repair is a very broad term and includes the repair of all the following; rock chips, rock pecks, dings, nicks and cracks. The repair procedure is a two step process. First, the damaged area is injected with a special resin (glue) designed and formulated for auto glass. After a series of pressure and vacuum cycles the resin will have completely filled all the cracks and crevices. Secondly, a curing lamp is applied, the ultra violet rays it emits sets up a chemical reaction with the molecules in the resin causing it to harden, thereby bonding the windshield back to it’s original strength.
